AMI FACTOR™

The LipoLys AMI™ RSWT incorporated in the LIPOKONTUR device uses a unique, built-in and proprietary new dosimetry unit called the AMI Factor™ (for Average Modulated Impact),

which the device internally calculates and displays as a numerical expression on the screen, as soon as the user chooses the indication on the body site.

The AMI Factor™ is an estimate of the energy delivered to the tissue with each shock, based on the Power (Bars) and the Frequency (MHZ) settings. The AMI p/a is the total energy value delivered to a certain body area, in one session. It is also internally calculated by multiplying the AMI factor with the number of shots delivered.

Besides these two values, the device internally calculates and displays the Minimum and Maximum AMI values. Based on medical protocols, compiling treatment parameters’ averages, it is clear that every procedure should be performed between these two numbers (Minimum AMI and Maximum AMI margins) to achieve the optimal clinical outcomes for each specific indication (e.g. cellulite 1 and 2) on a specific part of the body (e.g. buttocks).

The optimal Min and Max AMI data, per procedure, is internally kept within the device memory for later retrieval and automatic check against the changes made, if user should modify the preset menu parameters (Frequency and/or Power).

One of the uses for the calculated AMI factor values is to provide a numeric constant, averaging the treatment settings and parameters which were chosen, in just one number - making it easy to keep track and later to follow up with the patients’ clinical outcomes and other users.

A more immediate practical use for the AMI Factor™ Minimum and Maximum is that the device has an immediate ability to send WARNING feedback to the user, if preset settings are being modified beyond the recommended Min or Max values. In fact, the device has an extra layer of “control” over the safety and the “efficacy” of the treatment settings, in case the user chooses to modify the preset suggested settings for different reasons (e.g. discomfort). If the operator chooses to change the suggested settings below or beyond specific values (which are preset in the device memory), the device would allow the change but only after giving a warning, suggesting to increase or decrease Frequency and Power settings back to the appropriate range of values which are safe and efficient for the particular procedure.

See the AMI Factor table, as below, as it is internally loaded into the device for control and safety.
